Thursday Video: metamorphic rocks in the Giant's Causeway

Remember the story a few weeks ago about The National Trust including the creationist hypothesis as a plausible explanation for the origin of the Giant's Causeway (Northern Ireland) at their new visitor's centre?
Let's forget the sectarian nonsense and let's focus in science, the marvel of reason that tries to explain our word through our observations and logical deductions.

Today, for Thursday Video, a film produced by the Open University about metamorphic rocks (and also igneours rocks!) in and around the Giant's Causeway.

    The Giant Causeway is a spectacular natural phenomenon, the result of hardened and solidified lava through the course of millions of years resulting in gorgeous metamorphic rocks. What interesting facts these formations tell concerning the geological history and natural changes of the earth. The knowledge of such complicated processes normally makes dissertation writers venture into the details of such scientific issues in their academic works.
